BUILT TO
MOVE ROOMS.
DJ Mischievous is an Albuquerque-based open-format DJ whose sets are built around instinct, range, and connection — not a rigid genre box.

THE STORY
DJ Mischievous started behind the decks in 2014, building from New Mexico rooms into a career that now stretches across clubs, festivals, radio, weddings, corporate events, private events and major concert support slots. What started as a love for music became an obsession with something bigger: understanding what makes a room move.
Over the years, that instinct has taken Mischievous from local dance floors to national platforms and stages, including support opportunities with artists such as Steve Aoki, Metro Boomin, Ne-Yo + Akon and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, along with appearances on SiriusXM. Every new room has added another layer to the way she performs — but never changed the reason she does it.
At the center of everything is connection. Mischievous is not interested in walking into a room with one predetermined version of the night. The goal is to make each set feel like it could only have happened there, with those people, at that exact moment.
Based in Albuquerque and available far beyond it, Mischievous continues to build a career around versatility, longevity and the belief that being open-format should mean more than simply knowing a lot of music. It means knowing what to do with it.
THE APPROACH
No autopilot. No cookie-cutter playlists. Every event gets preparation, but the set itself stays alive. Mischievous pays attention to the room in real time — who is responding, where the energy is building, when to stay in a pocket and when to completely switch direction.
Open-format is the foundation. Hip-hop and R&B can turn into house. A throwback can set up a current record. Pop, dance, Latin music and unexpected left turns can all live in the same set when the transition makes sense and the crowd is ready for it.
The technical side matters, but it is there to serve the experience. Clean transitions, pacing, programming and timing all work together so the night feels effortless from the dance floor, even when a lot is happening behind the booth.
That same philosophy applies whether the room is a nightclub, a concert stage, a corporate event or a wedding: understand what the moment needs, respect the people in it, and never be afraid to change the plan when the room tells you something better.
